Cagayan de Oro City’s Php 1.22 billion Project Lunhaw is set to be completed by 2022. Aside from the Riverside Park, a major component of the urban resiliency project is the conversion of Plaza Divisoria into a walkable park which means both RN Abejuela and Tirso Neri Streets will become no entry for vehicles. This was revealed during yesterday’s Urban Resiliency Investment Forum 2020 attended by Project Lunhaw’s main stakeholders and implementors led by City Mayor Oscar Moreno.
Project Lunhaw covers three projects – Lunhaw East, Lunhaw West and Lunhaw Central.
Among the three, Lunhaw Central is the most visible since it covers Plaza Divisoria and Riverside Park.
Below are screengrabs for the planned Plaza Divisoria where roads will be repalced with permeable surface.
Meanwhile, the Riverside Park will complement the ongoing Flood Risk Management Project.
