The Municipality of Balingoan in Misamis Oriental has always been known as the jump-off point to Camiguin but the fishing town also has a scenic mountain landscape. SALAG or sometimes called “DAHILIG NEST”, an increasingly popular new overlooking site located in Barangay Dahilig, Balingoan offers that contrast and a rare view of Langit-langit Falls, a hidden natural wonder located at the northern foothills of Balatucan Mountain Range.
GETTING THERE. The site is about 12 kilometers from Balingoan Municipal Hall. Road is mixed paved and all-weather including the ongoing Claveria-Balingoan Road but generally accessible. Some unpaved portions are also muddy due to the recent rains. From the parking area, you need to walk some 300 meters to reach the “Salag”.

At the ridge, a “large nest” was put up as a feature for photo ops. You can see Langit-langit Falls in the background. By the way, a P10 ENTRANCE FEE is collected per head for improvement of the area. Kids are FREE.
Because of growing popularity, a second much larger nest was put up.
“Salag” has already drawn a lot of visitors.
If you’re lucky, you can catch the waterfall with large flows.
