There will be no in-court hearings in Courts of the Cagayan de Oro City Hall of Justice from November 9 to 18, 2020. In a Memorandum dated November 6, 2020, Deputy Court Administrator for Mindanao Leo Tolentino Madrazo stated that the move aims to contain the spread of COVID-19. Accordingly, the said Memorandum was issued with prior consultation and upon the approval of Court Administrator Jose Midas P. Marquez.
In its Facebook post, the Regional Trial Court, Branch 18, Cagayan de Oro City stated that during the said period, all presiding judges of the station will be authorized to conduct videoconferencing hearings from home, and the raffling of cases shall also be through videoconferencing. However, a skeletal force shall be maintained per Branch, on a rotation basis.
Initiatory pleadings in both civil and criminal cases, including informations and applications for bail, may be filed electronically through the Courts’ official e-mail addresses.
