Cagayan de Oro’s first woman councilor, Lourdes “Inday” La Viña, was laid to rest today, October 6, 2020 at Eternal Gardens (formerly Greenhills Memorial Park) in Bulua, two days after succumbing to pneumonia last October 4, 2020. She was 90 years old.
Inday La Viña made history in Cagayan de Oro after her election in 1980, becoming the city’s first woman councilor.
Prior to her passing, she was a Trustee of the National Museum of the Philippines being appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte last 2018.
She died at 6:45pm on October 4 at Capitol University Medical Center (CUMC). She tested negative of Covid-19.
