MAKAHIYAW FALLS, a newly discovered hidden natural wonder with crystal clear cool waters, is a potential tourist attraction located in Barangay Besigan, Cagayan de Oro City’s southernmost barangay.
City Councilor Jay Roa Pascual who had just recovered from Covid-19 is back at work and as the Chairman on the City Council Committee on Tourism, recently visited the falls as part of plans to develop potential tourist sites in the city’s hinterland barangays for possible source of income and livelihood for residents in the area.
In his initial assessment, Councilor Pascual said the falls has a great potential for tourism but there’s still a need to improve access to the site which is just a few minutes walk from the Besigan National High School. By the way, Besigan is located some 26.5 kilometers south of the city proper.
