The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently turned over to the Iligan City Mayor Celso G. Regencia three new quarantine facilities in Barangays Poblacion, Acmac (Sta Filomena) and Tomas Cabili totalling 120 bed cubicles. Meanwhile, DPWH is also planning to build similar isolation units at Barangay Lunotan, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental with 37-bed capacity; Talairon, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental with 90-bed capacity; and Upper Puerto and Barangay Macasandig, both in Cagayan de Oro City with 20 and 30-bed capacity, respectively.
The project involved the conversion of multi-purpose buildings like covered court into cubicle rooms and setting up of a rest room and shower facilities. These will enable immediate isolation of asymptomatic, mild, suspect or probable cases to help curb the spread of coronavirus in the city.
