UPDATE: BAWBAWON ISLAND IS CURRENTLY TEMPORARILY CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC DUE TO OVERCROWDING

How would you like to go glamping on an island? BAWBAWON, a secluded island off the coast of Plaridel town in Misamis Occidental is a hidden paradise with pristine white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and lines of tall coconut trees. On one side of the island facing Iligan Bay lies a beach resort perfect for a different kind of glamping experience.

GETTING THERE

Going to Bawbawon Island is not really a problem. It’s a mere 10-15 minute boat ride from the Port of Plaridel. By the way, if you’re heading to Bawbawon Island Resort, have a quick visit to Le Bistro Restaurant located near the port so they can arrange your trip. Another option is via the footbridge (see map below).

Bawbawon Island Resort is less than a kilometer away from the main shoreline of Plaridel and has hundreds of patches of mangroves. Basically untouched for a long period of time, the island is also a popular destination for a brief getaway for family picnics. Check out some photos below courtesy of Bawbawon Beach Resort.
