Charred remains of a family of four were recovered Saturday, August 15, in the rubble of the house in Barangay 22 in Cagayan de Oro City which was destroyed by fire last August 12. This after neighbors complained of foul smell coming from the fire site prompting the barangay chairman to report the incident to the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP).

Fire authorities searched the rubble and recovered one of the bodies in the kitchen, one in the room at the second floor and two in the toilet. All were burned beyond recognition. Authorities identified the bodies as that of the Ayangod Family who owned the house: Ador, 50, his wife Juliet, 50, and their children Joseph, 20, and Esther, 18.

Meanwhile, Xavier University mourned the death of two of the victims who were students of the school.
