The town of Talisayan in Misamis Oriental recorded its first confirmed coronavirus case today, August 2, 2020 involving a 56-year old female locally stranded individual (LSI) from Quezon City who tested POSITIVE on the final day of her 14-day quarantine since her arrival.

In its advisory, the local IATF stated that the patient arrived at Laguindingan Airport last July 16 and brought straight to Mandahilag Isolation Unit for the mandatory 2 week quarantine. She tested NEGATIVE on her initial rapid test. However, on July 30, 2020, which is her 14th day supposedly the day prior to her scheduled release, she tested POSITIVE via rapid test and a swab test was performed that same day which came out POSITIVE with results released today. She is now at the Municipal Isolation Unit for further observation and care.
