Motorists availing of the new backride policy will have another week to install either of the two prototype barrier designs approved by the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 after the deadline for installing protective barriers on motorcycles has been extended to July 26.
It can be recalled that the NTF had already approved the prototype designs proposed by Bohol Governor Arthur Yap and ride-hailing firm Angkas. The barriers aim to reduce the risk of catching coronavirus.
Only couples such as husbands and wives, common-law couples, and live-in partners are allowed for the backride policy. They must present proof they live together at quarantine control points or to law enforcers. They may show documents such as marriage certificate or barangay-issued certificate proving they share the same address.
Wearing of face mask, helmet and compliance to speed limits are still required.
