Golden Donuts, Inc. the Philippine franchisee of the Dunkin’ Brands Inc. has denied it is closing stores in the country. In its Facebook post, it stated that it wishes to clarify and reassure its customers that there are currently no plans of permanently closing Dunkin’ operations in the Philippines. This is in response to trending news reports of closure of 450 outlets of the popular donut brand. It stated however that the closure of 450 stores by the end of 2020 is true but only in the United States.

It has come to our attention that there are news reports being circulated online regarding the closure of 450 outlets of Dunkin’ located in Speedway gas stations across the United States by the end of 2020. Some of the local reposts of said news articles have used photos of a Dunkin’ Donuts storefront in the Philippines in connection with the story, which may have confused some readers. Golden Donuts, Inc., the Philippine franchisee of the Dunkin’ Brands Inc. wishes to clarify and reassure its customers that there are currently no plans of permanently closing Dunkin’ operations in the Philippines
