Some 300 locally stranded individuals (LSI) from Manila on board 15 buses are now on their way to Cagayan de Oro via land trip from Bicol. The group is part of the 80-Partas bus convoy carrying 2,000 LSIs going to Mindanao with the other groups going to Davao and GenSan.
Sunday afternoon, they were heading to Allen Port in Northern Samar from Sorsogon and are probably now either at San Ricardo Port in Southern Leyte or at Lipata Port in Surigao.
The LSIs are being brought home under the Hatid-Tulong Initiative program, a joint undertaking of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Presidential Management Staff (PMS), the League of Municipalities and the national government.
