The Provincial Government of MIsamis Oriental has temporarily stopped all disbursements out of its 2020 budget following a temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by a regional trial court (RTC) for failure by the provincial government to post the contents of the appropriations ordinance in conspicuous places.

Accordingly, the TRO issued by RTC 10 Branch 23 Judge Vincent Rosales stemmed from a petition filed last June 26 by Vice Gov. Jeremy Jonahmar Pelaez and provincial board members Jerry Khu and Josephine Mugot.

Here’s Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano’s memo on the temporary suspension of disbursements.

Because of this, implementation of basic services throughout the province will be greatly affected including the operation of 8 provincial hospitals, Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail and Rehabilitation Center, infrastructure projects, financial assistance to cooperatives, financial aid to returning overseas Filipino workers, locally stranded individuals, and the general public.
