The City Government of Cagayan de Oro and Maria Reyna Xavier University Hospital (MRXUH) yesterday, July 1, 2020, signed an agreement where City Hall will allocate Php500,000 worth of testing kits, personal protection equipment (PPEs) and other consumables to MRXUH in exchange for conducting reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests for free on indigent symptomatic/asymptomatic patients with moderate to severe COVID-19 symptoms.

Signing in behalf of the City Government are Mayor Oscar Moreno and City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery while outgoing XU President Roberto Yap and Hospital Administrator Sr. Evelyn Aguilar represented MRXUH.

MRXUH is in the process of being accredited for COVID-19 testing by the Department of Health (DOH-10).

The multi-room laboratory donated by United Laboratories (Unilab) is located within the MRXUH compound.
