Cagayan de Oro City has recorded six (6) new confirmed cases as of today, June 15, 2020. Yesterday, June 14, 2020, Cagayan de Oro recorded its 16th Covid-19 case with a resident from Barangay Bulua but is now in an isolation unit in Pasig City. Meanwhile, 5 close contacts of the 34-year old confirmed deceased patient at Dabatian Street in Carmen also tested positive based on results of swab tests released today. This was disclosed by City Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya in today’s press briefing.
As per details released today, the 60-year old patient from Bulua is an OFW bound for Indonesia and is currently in an isolation unit in Pasig City. Accordingly, the patient arrived in the city last March 12 and completed the 2-week home quarantine. After which, he spent some time visiting his farm in Opol and some stores in Kauswagan and Carmen. Last June 5, he received a call from his employer in Indonesia to resume work so he processed his medical clearance at a private hospital. Last week, he processed his travel papers including lining up at the City Health Office for Medical Certificate last June 8 as well as at Cagayan de Oro City Police Office for the Travel Authority last June 9. He flew to Manila last June 10 and was tested again where result yielded he was positive. He is now at a condominium isolation unit in Pasig.
Meanwhile, 5 close contacts and relatives of the confirmed case in Dabatian Street in Carmen tested positive based on results of swab tests released today. They include the 67-year old father of patient, 31-year old sister, 25-year brother, 38-year old sister and 18-year old daughter of patient. They are all now at the City Isolation Unit.
With this latest development, the city now has 21 confirmed cases.
