The first batch of stranded repatriates and non-OFW residents of Misamis Occidental finally arrived home today after nearly 3 months in Manila via an AirAsia sweeper flight arranged by the Provincial Government through its Balik Mis Occ Program.
Prior to their flight to Ozamiz City, all of the returning residents had a rapid test conducted by the Department of Health (DOH) at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Only those who tested negative were allowed on the flight. Seven repatriates tested positive and didn’t make the trip and the provincial government has coordinated with DOH and Department of Tourism (DOT). All of the passengers will still undergo a 14-day quarantine in their respective hometowns.
Watch the arrival at Ozamiz Airport below. Incidentally, this is AirAsia’s first ever flight to Ozamiz City.
Below are photos at NAIA Terminal 2 prior to their flight.
