A female soldier has donated blood to save the life of a wounded New People’s Army (NPA) rebel the troops have rescued after an encounter last May 4 in Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Private First Class Eunice Jane Curayag, assigned with the 1st Civil Military Operations Battalion, donated her blood to the rebel alias Ka Lando who was injured during the encounter against the 97th Infantry Battalion.
Accordingly, joint forces of the 97th and 53rd Infantry Battalion rescued Ka Lando in Barangay Guibo, Siayan municipality and was rushed to Kuta Cesar Sang-an Station Hospital in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.
According to Maj Jussel Parlan, the commanding officer of Kuta Cesar Sang-an Station Hospital, “alias Lando suffered a gunshot wound at the abdomen and due to severe blood loss he must be transfused with blood for him to fully recover”.
