Two years ago, we found out about the proposed New Eastern Diversion Road as among the proposed major road openings in Cagayan de Oro City. And now, we finally found the route map of the 4.25-kilometer 2-lane alternate road which starts along South Diversion Road (near Alegria Hills) and traverses the mountain slopes of Macasanding, Nazareth and Camaman-an towards the flat terrain at JR Borja Extension and connecting to Limketkai Avenue.
The project costs around Php 225 million and will also have a bicycle lane. Here’s the route map. Click map to enlarge.
Below are the typical roadway section and perspective view.
The said project aims to decongest traffic plying along the road network of Nazareth, Camaman-an and Justo Ramonal areas and improve accessibility to the Eastern Central Business District. The provision of bicycle lanes will also answer calls for safer road spaces for bicycle users in the area.
We’re still trying to gather construction update on this project as this was proposed together with the CDO Eastern Interior Road (Gusa-Puerto) we posted yesterday and the Opol-Canitoan Diversion Road.
Here’s our old post in January 2018.
