Two patients who were admitted at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) have tested positive of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). This was disclosed by NMMC chief Dr. Jose Chan during the press briefing today, April 9, 2020.
Accordingly, the 2 new confirmed cases involved a 58-year-old father and his 16-year-old daughter. The mother (Patient 598) who arrived at Laguindingan Airport and was admitted at Polymedic and transferred to NMMC. She tested positive but has now recovered and was discharged last March 31 and advised for home quarantine.
However, Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno clarified that both are not Cagayan de Oro residents. He further added that the father has also tested negative in his repeat test which came out today, April 9 while his 16-year-old daughter is now stable.
