The organizer of the Word of God Spirit & Life Ministries Inc. located along Capistrano Street in downtown Cagayan de Oro is now facing charges of violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) and Section 9(d) of Republic Act No. 11332.
According to the City Regulatory Compliance Board (RCB), the pastor is liable for proceeding with the religious activity amid the suspension of large gathering and implementation of social distancing. Around 500 persons attended the gathering.
Section 9(d) of AR 11332 states that “non-cooperation of persons and entities that should report and/or respond to notifiable diseases or health events of public concern.“
Meanwhile, Article 151 of the RPC states that “Resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or the agents of such person. – The penalty of arresto mayor and a fine not exceeding 500 pesos shall be imposed upon any person who not being included in the provisions of the preceding articles shall resist or seriously disobey any person in authority, or the agents of such person, while engaged in the performance of official duties.
