A composite team led by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) raided a medical supply facility in Barangay Gusa selling portable thermal scanners at Php9,500 each while the prevailing market price (Lazada) is just Php389 only.
Some 203 units of thermal scanners worth Php1.9 million were seized during the raid held today, March 24, 2020 after the proprietors failed to present appropriate and necessary Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) and License to Operate (LTO) from their supplier, as mandated by FDA Advisory No. 2020-434, and RA 9711.
