The first COVID-19 case in Cagayan de Oro was confirmed involving a 54-year-old Filipino man who did not travel recently to any of the 109 infected countries nor was he in close contact with any of the confirmed cases. He was admitted Wednesday afternoon at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) after an initial confinement in Iligan City.

The patient was the 40th patient who tested positive of COVID-19 in the country as confirmed by Dr. Ian Gonzales of DOH-10. Accordingly, he was initially admitted in Iligan City before he was referred to NMMC. Screenshot below from
