The Philippine College of Radiology (PCR) is the umbrella organization of all radiologists in the Philippines with the vision of being a leading world-class radiology organization in optimizing, promoting, and advancing quality and safe diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional radiology through education, training and research.

The PCR is an affiliate society of the Philippine Medical Association with at least 1,300 members composed of Fellows and Diplomates. The title of Diplomate in Radiology is awarded by the PCR to a radiologist who has fulfilled all the requirements set by the Philippine Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology, which administers the certifying examinations annually. The title of Fellow is awarded to a Diplomate who has fulfilled the requirements for membership as Fellow in the PCR.

Under this organization are the different Subspecialty Societies and Special Interest Societies in the field of Radiology. These include Ultrasound; CT-MRI; Radiation Oncology; Vascular and Interventional Radiology; Pediatric Radiology; Neuroradiology, Head and Neck Radiology; Thoracic and Cardiovascular Radiology; Abdominal Radiology; Skeletal Radiology; Diagnostic Breast Imaging; and Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.

As you can see, the Philippine College of Radiology is an all-encompassing society of specialty doctors who aim to promote excellence in radiology by ensuring quality, safe and ethical practice, while collaborating with other healthcare professionals, organizations and the government in optimizing and advancing medical imaging. In order to fulfill its objectives, the PCR has been establishing local chapters in the entire country.

We are happy to announce that as of February 2020, during the Philippine College of Radiology’s 72nd Annual Convention held at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, the group of local radiologists were inducted and recognized officially, becoming the MINDANAO-NORTH CHAPTER of the PHILIPPINE COLLEGE OF RADIOLOGY, headed by its inaugural president, Dra. Melody Bautista-Monsalud. Forming a local chapter marks a big step in improving the practice of Radiology in Northern Mindanao, as well as in its neighboring regions, since it serves as a venue for its members to share and discuss the latest trends and innovations in the field. It will also host future post-graduate courses which will benefit clinicians as well as allied health-care professionals in improving service delivery and technical know-how.

As a brand new chapter, it welcomes all Radiologists in Northern Mindanao and its neighboring regions including, but not limited to, Caraga, Lanao and Zamboanga.
