Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) has ranked No. 1 among 14 colleges and universities in Northern Mindanao which are among 277 colleges and universities in the Philippines included in the 2020 World Ranking Web of Universities as revealed by Webometrics.

The rankings were based on the performance of universities from all over the world based on their web presence, impact, openness, and excellence, according to the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.

In the Top 277 Philippine rankings, MSU-IIT ranked 10th followed by Central Mindanao University (13th), Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan (23rd) and University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (50th).

Others in the list are Iligan Computer Institute (83rd), La Salle University Ozamiz (114th), Misamis University (115th), Capitol University (129th), Liceo de Cagayan University (140th), Bukidnon State University (148th), St. Michael’s College of Iligan City (159th), Mountain View College (174th), Mindanao State University at Naawan (176th) and Iligan Medical Center College (259th).
