Tired of waking up early to prepare breakfast and baon for school for your kids? Or are your kids still sleepy while attending morning classes? Guess what, a bill has been filed in Congress seeking to adjust the start of classes in all public and private schools in the country to 8:30AM.
In his explanatory note for House Bill No. 569 or the “Adjusted Class Hours Act of 2019”, Bacolod City’s Lone District Rep. Greg G. Gasataya cited health and safety of the students as well as the current state of transportation, state of mental health in the country, and accessibility of schools especially in rural areas as the main reasons on his proposal. Read below.
HB No. 569 clearly states prohibition of all educational institutions, public or private, to commence classes earlier than 8:30AM. Read it below.
Based on Congress’ website, the said bill is still pending with the Committee on Basic Education and Culture and secondarily referred to the Committee on Higher Education and Technical Education.
Do you agree on his proposal?
