Construction of the new Opol-Canitoan Diversion Road Project has now reached Canitoan in Cagayan de Oro City at the Bulua-Canitoan-Pagatpat Road Junction.

As shown below, the road opening has reached right beside Seventh Day Adventist Church in Canitoan Proper and is now progressing to road concreting.

This is a 4-lane alternate highway when completed connecting Poblacion, Opol to Canitoan in Cagayan de Oro.

When finished, motorists travelling between Opol and Uptown Cagayan de Oro can take this route avoiding traffic at Iponan and Bulua area.

Here’s the original route map. Some re-alignments were reportedly made in the mid-sections of the route which is now passing near Youngsville Subdivision in Igpit.

This is a portion of the re-alignment near Youngsville.
