Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano recently led the formal blessing and inauguration of the Oolong Tea Processing Center located at Barangay Kalagonoy, Gingoog City.

The event last Friday, January 31, 2020 was also attended by Gingoog City Vice Mayor Peter Unabia, and other city and provincial officials and staff.

The P4 million oolong tea processing center is said to be the first in the country and will benefit local oolong tea farmers in the locality.

Oolong tea is a traditional Chinese tea made from the partially oxidized leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Accordingly, in addition to caffeine, oolong tea contains vitamins, minerals, amino acids and beneficial tea polyphenol antioxidants which are responsible for its health benefits.
