The Department of Health in Northern Mindanao (DOH-10) is monitoring two patients at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center in Cagayan de Oro City who are now regarded as persons under investigation (PUI) for novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
Based on a news article from Inquirer.net, DOH-10 Assistant Regional Director Dr. Dave Mendoza said the two had traveled to China two weeks ago and have voluntarily sought consultation at NMMC after experiencing flu-like symptoms. Laboratory tests are now ongoing.
Dr. Mendoza also said the virus is not airborne so observing proper hand hygiene is more important than wearing face masks. Read more details at Inquirer.net article below.
