Commuters in Cagayan de Oro are now slowly experiencing the difference between the old jeepney and the modern PUV.

One major improvement is the use of beep cards which is being used in the LTR/MRT in Manila. If you have one, you can also use it to pay for your fare. But as of today, beep cards are not yet available in the city so cash payments are still accepted.

Of course, other amenities in the modern PUV units by the Oro Transport Service Cooperative (OROTSCO) include it’s air-conditioned, has CCTV and has a passenger assistance officer which is an upgrade for the traditional jeepney conductor.
