Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa, a native of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, has been named by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to succeed Oscar Albayalde as head of the country’s police force during a thanksgiving event for the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Davao City Friday, January 17, 2020.
Gamboa served as officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police (PNP) since October last year after the resignation of Albayalde. He has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Ateneo de Davao University. He also attended Jose Rizal University for his law degree and passed the bar examinations in 2004. Gamboa belongs to the Philippine Military Academy Sinagtala Class of 1986.
