A total of at least one hundred forty-four (144) volcanic earthquakes have been recorded in the Taal region since 1:00 PM, January 12, 2020 which according to Phivolcs signifies continuous magma intrusion beneath the Taal edifice, which may lead to further eruptive activity.

Check out this latest map from hazardhunter.georisk.gov.ph as of 10:44 PM, January 13, 2020 showing the seismic activity near Taal Volcano. As shown, most of the volcanic earthquakes had epicenters west to southwest of the volcano. Accordingly, most of these areas will experience heavy and prolonged ashfall.
