The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has resumed work on the construction of Mandulog Bridge 1 located in Brgy. San Roque, Iligan City after the right-of-way (ROW) issues have been settled.

The bridge project which was initiated after the old Hinaplanon Bridge collapsed during the onslaught of Tropical Storm Sendong in 2011 was out on hold and delayed after landowners of the affected properties in Brgy. San Roque rejected DPWH’s settlement offer.

However, after re-designing the bridge’s approach to reduce the number of affected families, the new set of landowners finally accepted the offer of DPWH.

DPWH X is now evaluating the documents submitted by identified landowners for the payment of ROW claims. With all legal impediment settled, work on the Mandulog Bridge I project finally progresses.
