A Tropical Storm with international name PHANFONE is still on track to traverse Central Visayas on Christmas Eve. At 11AM today, December 22, it was spotted some 1,365 km East of Mindanao and still outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Once it enters PAR either tonight or tomorrow morning, it will be named URSULA. It is forecast to make landfall between Eastern Visayas and Caraga area on Christmas Eve (December 24). Then, it will traverse the Visayas area.
