The House Committee on Higher Education has unanimously approved House Bill No. 429 authored by Cong. Rufus Rodriguez which seeks to establish a Techo Park at the 292-hectare property of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental.

In his Facebook post, Rep. Rodriguez said the bill was supported by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) and other resource persons. The proposal also sought an appropriation of P4 billion for the proposal. Representing USTP during the hearing were new USTP President Dr. Ambrosio Cultura, Atty. Dionel Albina, Vanessa Ascano, and Atty. Clint Pacana.
