Archolito Aguinaldo Palubon, the notorious robber who was killed in a shootout with Cagayan de Oro police Tuesday night was also one of the prime suspects in the recent robbery incidents at Quality Appliance Plaza as well as in LBC and other establishments.

The 29-year old Palubon also known as ‘Bingcol’ succumbed to a lone gunshot wound in his upper chest. Read full text of the press release from Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) below.



On November 12, 2019 at around 6:25 in the evening, COCPS4 received information that robbery is on progress at CCH Hardware situated along Ipil street, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.

Outright Police Station 4 personnel led by PMAJ IAN G BORINAGA, Station Commander responded and upon arrival at the scene the responding personnel saw two (2) unidentified suspects brandishing short firearms inside said establishment and with a gesture that they were about to withdraw/exit. And while on the process they fired their firearms towards the responding officers, prompting the responding officers to take cover and chase the suspects who was able to take a woman to be his shield against the pursuing officers. There and then exchange of fire ensued between the responding officers and the fleeing suspects until fleeing suspect was cornered along Lerio and Oak Sts.,Carmen, Cdoc wherein suspect succumbed to death. Suspect identified as ARCHOLITO PALUBON y AGUINALDO aka Bingcol, 29 years old, married, and a resident of Zone-1, Buara, Bayabas, Cagayan de Oro City who was armed with a Caliber .45 pistol with magazine loaded with live ammunition. SOCO personnel stated that the suspect sustained lone fatal gunshot wound at the left upper chest, while the other suspects evaded arrest by blending the market goers.

Further investigation disclosed that at about 6:15 in the evening of same date two (2) armed men barged inside the establishment of CCH Hardware and while their companions served as lookout positioned out said establishment and while inside divested cash money amounting to ₱20,000.00.

PLTCOL CHRISTIAN CABALLES, SOCO team leader recovered the following physical evidences described to wit: one (1) unit Caliber .45 pistol with serial number 945451, one (1) steel magazine, Nine (9) live ammunition, one (1) bonnet, one (1) Gun inside holster, one (1) full-face helmet, one (1) small heat sealed rectangular sachet of alleged “Shabu”, one (1) unit Samsung Cellphone and driver’s license, Identification card, sling bag, paper and coin bills amounting to more or less php 2,000.00 and others. Physical evidences were brought to PNP Crime Lab subject for laboratory examination, while the cadaver was brought to Bollozos Funeral Parlor for proper disposition.

The casualty (AKA BINGKOL) is considered as the head of a notorious robbers who stage their nefarious activity in the city and nearby provinces. The fatality was responsible in the series of armed robbery/ hold-up in the city particularly the LBC, Quality Appliance Center and other business establishments.
