Esmeraldo Abalde, a self-taught artist from Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines became the first Filipino invited as an International Artist at the ongoing Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival (GGAF) set November 1-3, 2019 at Seville Square in Pensacola, Florida, USA. Abalde is into paintings mostly using oil as medium.

Abalde is just the 19th International Invited Artist since the program was introduced during the festival in 1999.
