‘Palina’, the annual traditional being practiced when visiting cemeteries during All Souls’ and All Saints’ Days is now prohibited at the City Memorial Park in Bolonsiri, Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City.

Accordingly, this is because ‘Palina‘ which is the practice of burning twigs, leaves, and herbs and cemetery visitors go on a smoke ritual to drive away bad luck and evil spirits, is classified as open burning, a prohibited practice under the City Ordinance on Ecological Solid Waste Management.
