The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has terminated three employees of its Northern Mindanao office in Cagayan de Oro City for their alleged involvement in “fixing” franchise-related activities.
In a press release, the three were identified as Rustom S. Tolentino, Dahlee Joy A. Saud, and Jamil H. Dimakuta. According to an investigation prior to their termination, the LTFRB received a complaint against Tolentino who is the designated driver of the office and Saud who is a frontline assistant for demanding money ranging from P50,000 to P60,000 as additional payment for processing of franchises. On the other hand, Dimakuta who is an inspector was a subject of complaint by a taxi operator accused of demanding P50,000 for the processing of the complainant’s taxi franchise application.
Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur P. Tugade lauded the LTFRB’s swift action and asked the public to further cooperate and inform them of any wrong doing via social media or just call 8888.
