Does an ordinary individual know what “PED XING” means? Well, Cagayan de Oro City’s Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) recently installed several “Use Ped Xing” signs around Divisoria where jay walking is prohibited. Jaywalking carries a P500 fine or community service if you can’t pay the penalty.
Generally, those acquainted with traffic signs know that PED XING is short for “Pedestrian Crossing”. But for many who are not educated and often ignore traffic signs, it simply reads like “PED SING”… Browse photos by RTA.
Perhaps they would like to put these signs around Cogon Market….
