An endangered turtle believed to be a hawksbill was seen laying eggs in Sicolon, Brgy. Mauswagon in Laguindingan town in Misamis Oriental. As shown below, several eggs are seen in the dirt which is just near the coast.
The incident has already been reported to the municipal government of Laguindingan and hopefully to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
It can be recalled that Laguindingan was named last year as having the cleanest coastal community in the country. See below.
The presence of the turtle somehow validates the ‘cleanest coastline’.
