Civil works have started for the Bukidnon Airport Development Project located in the Municipality of Don Carlos, Bukidnon.
The project covers only the site development and does not include the airport facilities such as the control tower, passenger terminal and associated buildings. It was awarded to Unimasters Conglomeration, Inc. based in Tacloban City. Unimasters is the same contractor of Sangley Airport which has been ordered to work 24/7 in order to meet the November 2019 scheduled opening. Here’s a screenshot of the contract agreement amounting to P272 million.
And here’s the Notice to Proceed issued last May 14, 2019. As stated, the contractor has 360 calendar days to complete the project.
Here are site photos taken sometime late August 2019 by Don Carlos Mayor Ma. Victoria O. Pizarro.
Meanwhile, design schemes for the proposed terminal building is still being evaluated.
Based on the feasibility study, the terminal building will be 120 meters by 45 meters and will cost P240 million.
