The City Government of Gingoog thru its City Social Welfare and Development and assisted by police recently gathered all the so-called Badjaos loitering, begging and sleeping in the city streets and sent them back to their origins.

According to Gingoog City Information Office, most of the Badjaos came from as far as Surigao, Zamboanga, Iligan and Tawi-tawi. Prior to their travel, they were given food and cash assistance as ordered by Gingoog City Mayor Erick Cañosa. Based on record, the first batch composed of 42 Badjaos were sent to Zamboanga including 19 adults and 23 children. When the vehicle returns to Gingoog, the second batch will be sent back to Surigao.
