Dengue cases particularly in the identified top ten hot spot barangays in Cagayan de Oro City have significantly dropped, three weeks after the city-wide anti-dengue campaign was launched.
This was based on latest figures from the City Health Office.
Meanwhile, some 20 public schools in dengue hot spot areas in the city were given 10 rolls of Olyset nets each which were installed on classroom windows.
Olyset nets are highly durable insecticide-treated and award-winning LLIN (long lasting insecticidal net) nets made by Sumitomo Chemical. It was the first LLIN which received recommendation by the World Health Organization (WHO) and revolutionized the global fight against malaria and dengue. It uses hybrid polymer and controlled insecticide release technology to repel, kill and prevent mosquitos from biting for up to five years.
