Most Rev. Jose “Joey” Ramirez Rapadas III was formally installed as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Iligan at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Iligan City today, September 5, 2019. The 47-year old Rapadas is the youngest Filipino bishop serving in and outside the country today.
Born in Tondo, Manila, Rapadas is a product of St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Cagayan de Oro City. Prior to his appointment, he was vicar general of the Diocese of Ipil. He succeeded the late Bishop Elenito Galido who died in December 2017.
He is the 5th bishop of the Diocese of Iligan. Papal Nuncio Gabriele Giordano Caccia and some 20 bishops and around 200 priests from all over the Philippines as well as City and Provincial officials attended Rapadas’ installation. Browse over some photos below during his Canonical Installation.
