Some forty eight (48) high-end CCTV cameras including six (6) Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras around Cogon Market are now installed and operational. This was revealed during today’s ceremonial switching led by Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno.
City Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya, together with City Economic Enterprise Department OIC Head Marfe Dacoco also attended the formal launching of the P2 million CCTV project.
The state of the art CCTV system uses fiber optic cables and has PTZ cameras capable of panning, tilting, and zooming in certain objects and persons some 200 meters away. The command center will be staffed 24/7 to ensure that the equipment will be on top shape.
The project will help keep the market area safe and will be a significant factor in solving criminal cases.
