Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno and officials of the Regional Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP-10) inaugurated today, August 27, the newly completed 3-storey male dorm, 2-storey infirmary and kitchen at the City Jail in Barangay Lumbia.
Mayor Moreno turned over the new facilities to Jail SSupt. Ester Pepito, Ph,D., Regional Director of BJMP-10.
The new P29.2 million 3-storey Male Dorm Building has 12 cells which can accommodate 12 persons deprived of liberty (PDL) each complete with bed bunks, cabinets, table and comfort room.
Meanwhile. construction of the 2-storey Jail Infirmary costed some P5 million while the new Jail Kitchen was worth P2.5 million.

Accordingly, more facilities inside the jail complex are already being lined up for implementation which will be funded by the Local Government of Cagayan de Oro City and these include an Admin Building, Multi-Purpose Covered Court and Jail School Building.
