Police in Cagayan de Oro City are appealing all victims of the five (5) budol-budol gang members arrested last Thursday, August 8 to come forward. The suspects are allegedly victimizing unaccompanied senior citizens making cash transactions in banks and malls.
The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) Station 2 in Cogon identified the suspects as Romeo Rivera, 72, of Ongio, Butuan City; Josie Barba, 62, widow, of Lapayan, Iligan City; Gina Pardillo, 53, of Lapayan; Mary Ann Torres, 48, of Lapayan; and Dexter Maglasang, 39, of Tagum City.
They were cornered by policemen in their getaway car, a blue Toyota Revo, near the corner of CM Recto and Corrales Avenue after an aborted attempt on a would-be victim along Corrales Avenue. Recovered from the suspects were a bundle of fake money and paper, a .38 caliber revolver and a grenade. More details in the links below.
