Fr. Robert “Bobby” Yap, SJ is following the footsteps of Fr. Jose Ramon “Jett” Villarin, SJ. This after the current Xavier University (XU) President was elected by the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Board of Trustees to become the next president of ADMU. He will assume the said position on June 1, 2020 when Fr. Villarin’s 3rd term ends.

Meanwhile, the search for the next President of Xavier University will commence in September this year during the Xavier Ateneo Board of Trustees meeting and the next XU president is expected to be elected by December 2019. Read Fr. Yap’s memo below.

Born in Cebu in 1959, Yap first came to Cagayan de Oro as acting Parish Priest of Miraculous Medal Parish in Lumbia. He succeeded Fr. Jose Ramon Villarin, SJ as XU president in 2011. Read our old post below.
