Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar formally inaugurated today, July 9, 2019 the newly completed P778 million Tagoloan Flood Control Project aimed to mitigate flood damage in high-risk areas in the Municipality of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

Funded through a loan agreement from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the project involves the construction of a 692-meter upstream and 1.9-kilometer downstream revetment structures as well as excavation works and drainage improvement.

Among those present during the inauguration include Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano, Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koji Haneda, DPWH Flood Control Management Cluster Project Director Patrick B. Gatan, DPWH Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations and Technical Services Emil K. Sadain and other local officials.
