The Army Recruitment Office Mindanao (AROM) was overwhelmed with around 2,000 applicants who came to take the Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) last June 19, 2019 at the 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division (4ID), Philippine Army in Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.

AROM and the personnel office of 4ID are jointly facilitating a 3-day AFPSAT and Army Qualifying Exam (AQE) and Special Written Exam (SWE) from June 19-21, 2019. Accordingly, the Army hopefuls came from Regions 9, 10, 11, CARAGA and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

These young individuals took the challenge of answering the 150 AFPSAT questions consists of verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning. Major Deo R Martinez, Chief AROM said applicants need to get 56 points to pass and qualify for the Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) and 88 points for the Officer Candidate Course (OCS) and Officer Preparatory Course (OPC). AROM took almost a whole day in screening the applicants.

The AFPSAT is just the first step in a rigid selection process to become army soldiers.
